Dear Pastor, Church, and All Supporters:

Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

There are two things that GOD’S people are slow in learning and that is, it is the LORD, who ‘orders’ the (steps) of a good man, and his (stops)!

Though we are not robots, computers, or a light switch, yet it is not we who orders our life, rather GOD!

I am preparing to return to PNG and have set things for this to come to fruition.  Only GOD knows, the exact steps and what will become of my planning, direction and departing.

I simply ask for your prayers that GOD will direct all things for HIS glory and for the good of HIS people.  I will not be making the (trip) to Malawi at this time, due to other legal restrictions of which, I am not prepared to subject myself under.  I do feel the LORD will ease those restrictions and I will make the trip in due time, at HIS timing!

I would like to announce that I have found a vehicle (second-hand) Land Rover – in Australia that fits what I have been looking for.  A new vehicle (from factory) or dealer, was out of my range, and unless I continued to remain here in the US looking for additional means for this, I felt that I should just get on with what I have available and ask the LORD to bless the means, vehicle, and work.  HE is the owner of a cattle upon a thousand hills, therefore, with what offerings have come in, and with those funds that were contributed towards the helicopter funding together we have enough to make the purchase and ship the vehicle onto PNG.  I will be sending out a report soon with the numbers, as I am still working on the accounting.

The LORD has blessed my stay here in the USA, and I have stayed busy for weeks on end, not one weekend have I been idle, and many miles have been negotiated in the preaching of HIS Word, the presentation of HIS Work, and encouraging you, the supporter, church member, pastor and little one!

I want to touch the topic of the Malawi mission work, Firstly, I want to be understood and say, all support (whatever it may be), that comes in for Edwin Chipala/ via the Malawi Mission work, always gets designated and appropriated, there are no support funds that ever get sent to another cause (unless) first I contact you (the supporter) and ask by permission if such and such can be used for this or that.  I have been doing mission work now for thirty-six years, and as GOD be my witness in heaven, many times I needed funds for immediate usage and certain offerings had been given (earmarked) for a specific cause), those funds were always used for that purpose, no more, no less!  I want to go on record stating such.

Secondly, I have always found my LORD to supply my need, it has not been easy nor convenient, but it has been!  Being a missionary who is supported by others’ often times leads to a (pre-supposed) idea that people may have license to dictate

(Ps 50:10) “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.”
(Ps 50:11) “I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.”
(Ps 50:12) “If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: [for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.”].  Emphasis mine.

Some years ago a certain church gave an offering for a specific need, whilst others also gave to the same cause, when there were disagreements, the same church who gave, the pastor of that church demanded the offerings to be (reversed/returned) however, some may disagree with this, and that is ok if you do, however when we entertain the idea of giving a (free-will offering) – to whom was that offering made? To the person or to the LORD! Since when did we start the habit of retracting our (offerings) to the LORD? And if this is ok, then how do you stop those who want all their (tithes and offerings) back that they have put into the church treasuries?

A person may be specific as to where they want the (free-will) offering to go and for what need, in so doing this will always be honoured!

All that said, Malawi/ Mozambique mission work as I left it was a turnkey job, thriving, indigenous, and a work in progress.  Edwin Chipala was brought into the spotlight, Eric Dinala – who also worked closely with me over the years is also back into the mission work.  I have written some about his needs and involvement in the mission work, thus the need for some support for Eric Dinala. I have instructed Eric that this year (2022) I would like for him to be prepared for teaching in the Bible School, as I will be preparing material for the schooling.  Much of this material is a cooperative effort between Elder DeWayne Harris and Lighthouse Bap church of Salinas CA.  I have material from Bro. Harris which, will be translated and used in the Bible School in Malawi.

I want to make clear that though Edwin and Eric are members of local churches in Malawi, they were recommended by me to you (the supporter) – in so doing your going on my testimony of these men to be worthy in the work for support.  In view of this, as Paul chose Silas, and exhorted Timothy, and Titus so too I today with those in the mission works.  In such case where someone whom I have (recommended) to you for

support – defects from this position, I will also notify you (the supporter) that I can no longer ‘recommend’ so and so for support.  In such case, it would be healthy for you (the supporter) to reserve your support – based upon my recommendations, I do not take this lightly, nor should you.

When I am invited to hold a meeting at a particular church, it is not my duty to come and sort out the church’s problems, (I am not the pastor there), I always respect and counsel with the Pastor of that church if there are questions, likewise those supporting a mission work through a Missionary.

I want to publicly thank each of you, who contributed (free-will) offerings to Pastor Jackson and the LMBC in Mulanje District, Malawi.  The roofing materials have been purchased and transported to the building site.  I will have pictures to send out soon of the work, and material purchased.

May the LORD keep each of you in the centre of HIS will, and smile upon your life.  I want to thank each of you for your sacrificial giving and prayers.

In His Name,

Missionary Peter A. Halliman
