Dear Pastor, Church, and All Supporters,
Mt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mt 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Mt 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Mt 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
Mt 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Mt 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
Mt 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
This report will be in reference to the Malawi mission work, each week I communicate with pastors and those within the mission work in Malawi / Mozambique, I have maintained a close relationship with the work even whilst I have been in PNG and when here in the USA. Many of the pastors and people within the work do not speak English, therefore knowing the vernacular is compulsory to communications.
One of the charter pastors within the work, some may recall the name, and some even met him (those who came to Malawi) whilst I was there, his name is Pastor Jackson Kopolo, he is pastor of the church in Mulanje District. Years ago, I was involved in the construction of the church building and the financing of the materials. The Malawian people (village people) do not have much, their land is heavily populated and small blocks of land are allocated by the local village chiefs, which are maintained throughout the years. Not many trees remaining due to deforestation. Timber is very very dear, with many villagers not able to purchase from the shops.
Unlike PNG, where the land is tribal and tropical rainforest, furthermore the population in PNG is only 8.3 million compared to Malawi at near 20 million, the country of Malawi is only the size of just one Province of PNG, and so on so on, you get the point.
Some weeks ago, Pastor Jackson sent me pics of the church building, strong winds had torn off the roofing, they were going into the rainy season therefore he asked if I could assist him, and the church with a new roof if possible.
This is a big task for one individual, all these years, I have never complained nor kept back any part of the LORD’S money within the mission work. I have tried to teach everywhere, that it is the duty of the local people to do what they can with what they have. However, there is also the concept and teaching that if we have more than our brother, and they are in need, then we should assist with that need asking the LORD to bless the efforts!
I could not say no to a man who has remained faithful in the work all these years and has himself also sacrificed much for the (Truth’ sake), therefore I have sent Bro. Jackson Kopolo a little over 1600. Over the past few weeks. It has not been easy or simply, the first amount was to purchase some trees, which had to be cut, sawed up into timber and hand-carried to the church site, then a carpenter had to be hired to construct the trusses, this has been completed. The roofing materials were next and with prices of commodities rising almost daily, the numbers have changed from the original quotation some few weeks ago.
There is an additional amount of ($800.00) that has been given to me by the vendor in order to complete the purchase of the roofing corrugated sheets. I am struggling to complete this by myself; therefore, I simply make the need known and if the LORD should impress upon any to help in this matter, then please either contact me (most of you have my contact info for further clarification.
I only have one week to respond with the remaining quotation, if not then prices will continue to rise.
The LORD knows already how all this is to work out, we just must do our part.
In His Name,
Missionary Peter Halliman
