Dear Pastor, Church, Supporters;

Psalm 50:10 — For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

1 Samuel 14:6 — And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.

All the money, gold, silver, cattle, business stocks, bonds, banks, offerings, tithes — all belong to the LORD. HE has simply given you, whoever you are, this much money, land, houses, vehicles, stocks, etc. We all are supposed to be good stewards of what GOD has placed in our care.

What do most people do with the money they find in their possession? Is it yours? You say you worked and earned it — does not the preacher work for his earnings?

The following report will show some numbers and at the same time may discourage some, but for others it only presents an opportunity to see our GREAT GOD do what HE always does — provide when it seems not possible.

GOD is not limited to HIS riches and coffers just because HE chooses to save by a few. However, that few must have a willing spirit and faith in the GOD of Heaven and Earth.

This report will be a short report and notice to all who have been involved, are involved, and who have interest in knowing. I want to keep all involved updated and briefed on what is taking place with the decision to purchase this x-military truck for the work in PNG.

In the year 2001, a x-military truck (cargo truck) was purchased with trailer and spare parts package for eleven thousand dollars ($11,000.00). I drove the vehicle from Idaho to New Orleans for shipment, with the total cost of purchase, fuel, and bits and pieces coming to just over twelve thousand to the port. The shipping fee was some seven thousand dollars — about the same as the vehicle itself.

I collected in South Africa, drove the vehicle to Malawi, cleared customs, and had nearly twenty thousand dollars invested in this vehicle landed at the mission station in Malawi. For fifteen years that truck became the workhorse of the mission work. I lived out of the vehicle for days on end in the bush preaching the Word of GOD, going places others could not reach or go. The vehicle enabled me to transport pastors, people, and cargo to and fro. I would not have been able, humanly speaking, to conduct the mission work in Malawi and Mozambique over the years without this truck. This comes out to a cost of $1,333.33 per annum for the truck and package — good sums in counting the cost in the work.

Had it not been for the truck, the Land Rover would never have held up under the workload and conditions placed upon it all those years.

According to an inflation rate of 47.6%, in 2001 had I bought the size of truck we are now purchasing, it would have cost $13,100.00. Many times we forget the value of the dollar and the inflation rate.

With the present living conditions in PNG, the road conditions, and the cargo required, I will soon be replacing the Land Rover in PNG — and that will run over seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000.00) for a new vehicle similar to the Land Rover I have now.

We as GOD’S people are expected to be diligent, good stewards, count the cost, and yet walk in faith. The substance does not belong to us, but to the LORD. May our LORD guide you and keep each of you in the centre of HIS will.

By His Grace,

Peter Halliman
