Report No. 30

Dear Pastor, Church, and Supporters;

(Ezek 3:17-19) “Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”

2nd November 2011 (Wednesday)

The morning hours we finalized our packing and went to Bro. Ekere’s, from there we went over last minute things and had our prayer as a family, from there to the airport, and then it was simply checking in and waiting for the boarding time. The call came and again the embracing, bidding our farewells and committing each other into the hands of our LORD until we were to meet again.

The flight to Port Moresby was only forty-five minutes and once we arrived we were picked up by transport and taken to the lodging place. After check in, I called the lady who had been in possession of our passports whilst we had been in the bush for the past thirty days. She came and handed them over and then we spent the balance of the day resting and going over the days and events, which, had become a part of our very lives.

3rd November 2011 (Thursday)

Our day began early as the departure flight was at 0600 hrs from Port Moresby to Cairns and we would connect from there to Sydney, and continue on from there to Johannesburg, South Africa.

At 0400 hrs I was up, made some coffee in our room, had our time of prayer and reading of Psalms, then we set off for the airport. We were checked in, and waited for the boarding call, which came soon enough. On board, and as we taxied down the runway, I couldn’t help but think about how we had been here but a short time in comparison to years spent in other places, however I felt confident that I had used the timetable to its fullest, I am one of those Preachers that believes, preaches and try to put into practice the fact that GOD has given us twenty-four hours in a day (24) within that we have to get (some) sleep, bath, eat and then what is remaining we are to be productive for HIM in (all things). Someone says, I just did not have the time – the fact of the matter is we all have time for what we (want) to do, if we don’t want to do it, well then, we don’t have the time, isn’t it?

Why put off for tomorrow what we can do today – We are all living amongst a generation of today who seeks to be “Amused” – to “NOT THINK” – used to be T.V. then the Movies, then went to DVD’S –movies at home, and now it is the internet, with no limit, and no boundaries.

2Ti 3:1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2Ti 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

2Ti 3:9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

2Ti 3:10 ¶ But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

Our flight being only fifty minutes and we touched down in Cairns, Australia, after we made our transfer we soon were airborne again for Sydney, the flight was uneventful and we arrived safely, it being in the afternoon and our departure flight to Johannesburg was not until the next morning, which, meant we would spend the night in the airport terminal.

We survived the night, though there was some drama as we were chased from being inside the terminal. We were herded up like cattle to a holding pen and taken to a locked room where there were many other people like us simply waiting for their departure flight.

4th November 2011 (Friday)

At 0600 hrs we were given clearance to go into the terminal to get checked in. At time of check in we were told that one of our carry on bags did not meet the requirements therefore we had to ship as air cargo to Malawi – I have had to do this before and its always drama. We waited, and soon were boarded, the flight was airborne and for the next fourteen hours we would try to comfort ourselves within our holdings.

At touch down in Johannesburg we had organized for accommodation, as we did not have a direct flight to Malawi. After clearing Customs and Immigration, the transport took us to our lodging where we had dinner and spent the night.

5th November 2011 (Saturday)

0500 hrs we started our day, had our showers and breakfast, our departure flight to Malawi was at 0900 hrs. We arrived at the airport, were checked in and had some time before our boarding to Malawi.

Boarding came and soon we were airborne again, in route to Blantrye Malawi. After the two hours of flight, we arrived at the starting point of this short but long journey we had taken to preach the Gospel. We both looked at one another when we disembarked the aircraft, as we knew it was a different world.

Allan (my mate here in Blantrye) was out of town and so I organized a taxi to take us home. When we arrived at the gates of our compound the two men, workers were surprised to see us, there was some part of that which, would be true, as the last communication I had with Edwin was that we were not sure if we would extend our time in PNG, or not, and if not then we would be arriving on the day that we did arrive.

Be that as it may, they were excited to see us and since Allan had the keys to our house and he was in Lilongwe, we had the taxi take us to his house where he had his houseboy let us in and we simply stayed at his house until he came home which was on Sunday evening.

6th November 2011 (Sunday)

Not being in a position to go to any of the churches for services and without a vehicle, we for the first time in months had our own services at home. I preached to my wife as we worshiped the LORD.

Our day was spent in peace and quietness, we both exchanged our own thoughts and comments in fellowship about the past thirteen weeks and how we felt the LORD had used us in HIS work.

Now, as to the conclusion to these reports, I have tried to relate to you the events, the feelings, the emotions, the conditions, the problems, and the experiences, which, we both had on the mission field in PNG.

I want to thank each of you for your prayers for us, and the faithful and sacrificial support, which, you sent our way.

In a cooperative effort you assisted us in preaching the Gospel to those whom GOD ordained for to hear.

In summary, within the twelve weeks which we spent in PNG, the LORD enabled me to preach Sixty-Two times, One Bible conference, we hiked over two hundred and fifty miles to preach HIS Gospel.

From the starting of our journey to the ending of our journey – we flew Twenty-Five thousand miles, drove over Three thousand miles over some of the roughest roads made for vehicles.

I want to thank Bro. Dale Wallace and the Bible camp of which he is involved for the love offering that made all this possible for the journey.

The people of PNG thank you, and we thank you!

I want to thank my home church personally for their effort and energy in keeping us before the LORD as well as making sure we had the resources to take care of our needs.

I want to thank each of you the supporters for you patience, prayers, and support in this effort for the “Great Work” which, I was engaged in.

I only make one apology and that is that it has taken me time to put together all these reports, there has been delays in-between, simply because since my return to Malawi, we have also been busy in the mission work here. I do not have the workers employed with the mission as I once did, for several reasons, so now I am involved more in the mechanics of the work, as well as the maintenance of the vehicles as well as their repair. We have been busy, so this has delayed my writings.

Thank you for all of your encouragement and kind words which; many of you have had to say to and for us.

I hope that in some small way the LORD has used these reports to encourage you, or challenge you in a way that HE may be honoured. As my writings were many times filled with my preaching and my position on different issues.

I do not make any apology for my stand, but if the way, which, I wrote it, was offensive to you, I apologize for the offense. It is neither my intent to offend, nor my objective to be abrasive, however I am strongly persuaded on my convictions.

I am working on a Picture report, which, will not go into detail of these reports, but will simply have comments to explain in short.

May our LORD richly bless each of you for your labour of love and smile upon the work of your hands for HIM.

(Eph 1:13) In whom ye also trusted, [after that ye heard the word of truth,] the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,

(Eph 1:14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

In His Name,

Missionary Peter A. Halliman
