Dear Pastor, Church, & All Supporters:
1 Thessalonians 2:18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
The LORD GOD, is Sovereign, (all) things are under his control and subject to HIM…. this being said, let us not forget to remember who the great enemy of our LORD is, he being the same enemy of GOD'S people, His church (bride) and the work of the LORD. We must NOT forget we are waging, engaged in, and fighting a 'spiritual war', the evil one does not sleep, get tired, grow weary, or take a holiday. It took God to cast him out of heaven, he (Saten) challenged the arc angle Micheal over the body of Moses….do not take this lightly. If an apostle said he was hindered in going, and doing the LORD'S work what does this tell us for today? Are you an apostle, do you have the power to heal, raise the dead, cause the blind to see, call fire down from heaven?? IF not, it would do well to pay head to what is going on around you.
I cannot begin to pen the words for the past weeks, days but will highlight just a few. From our last report, not a single day, waking hour has been idle. Every minute of every hour of every day has been accounted for and plugged into the work. Jacob and I have been flat out, the nights are short, days long and many frustrations.
The physical planning for the historical event forthcoming at the Tanggi mission station, again to reiterate there are seventeen pastors who will be set apart and ordained to the Gospel ministry. They will sit for their public examination to prove their office, their ability to handle the Word of God. Being a historical even, there are literally thousands of people coming to attend, from all over the country (PNG). The member of Parliament for that constituency will attend, the Prime Minister and the Hela Governor were invited, we will see who attends.
The Tanggi mission station has been transformed, with the help of hundreds of people who have come with shovels and sticks, axes and machetes. A covered structure that will sit upwards to one thousand people has been erected, bath houses, toilets, housing, temporary kitchens have been erected, firewood cleaved, rocks, stones gathered for the public mum (food, meat) cooked in the earth oven.
I personally feel like I am in the time of Nehemiah, summoning the people of Isreal to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. One hand a trowel, another a sword, only videos & pictures will show some of the tremendous work carried out, the preparations etc…
Besides all this, I have been making several trips to the Tanggi mission station from Mt. Hagen, this has been over the past three months, taking supplies, food, materials needed for the work to be carried out.
I have written many times of the distance 189 miles, which takes on an average of nine hours. The distance is too great, time is valuable, the logistics do not allow for a light load. With a heaven laden vehicle (no matter how tough) the vehicle is, it's only a matter of time, that maintenance, repair, replacement will come
The Land Rover I have, sustained some structural damage, in which, I have had to remove the rear enclosed structure (canopy) as we call it, it was mounted on the bed of the vehicle, it & the tray /bed had to be removed for repair. I spent nine days rebuilding a part of the chassis support brackets, reinforcing, welding, retempering the metal etc…. It has been completed, and all parts reassembled.
Vehicle being repaired:
Jacob's visa had expired; therefore, I had to take him out of country (Cairns, AU) a one hour thirty min flight, which is cheaper to fly from Port Moresby to Cairns, AU and back then it is from Mt. Hagen to Port Moresby and back.
We, Jacob and I spent a lovely four days in Cairns, God gave us some down time, I got to spend my birthday away from the work…this was a God send!!!
Jacob' visa renewed we flew back and immediately into the work, the Land Rover is back together, stronger than coming from the factory. You don't appreciate someone, or some (thing) until it taken away.
Task completed, back to normal, vehicle is in operations:
I have worked on the military truck, and it too is up and running, I have yet to update the road worthiness stickers, registration, Ins etc…I will start on this tomorrow.
I will attach a few pictures for all to see.
In His Name,
Missionary Peter Halliman
