Dear Pastor, Church and All Supporters;
Ac 20:17 ¶ And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
Ac 20:18 And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,
Ac 20:19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
Ac 20:20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,
I would like to present to each of you some things for consideration, firstly some few years ago I brought a young man from Malawi Africa to the USA, his name Edwin Chipala. I did not ask anyone to assist in his coming or going back, I bore the burden of expense to sustain him and was content to do so, investing in the LORD’S work.
In the Malawi mission work over the years, there were two men who came to be with me and the work, both attended public school and with enough education became an asset to the mission work. Eric who served with me some two years prior to Edwin, went on mission trips with me, helped translate bible school materials and when Edwin also came to be with me, I had further options.
Both served with me many years, in the teaching of the Bible school, mission work, days on end in the bush, Malawi, and Mozambique. We all endured hardness and arduous conditions, they being the people who they were Malawians, and I being the man I am.
In time as I felt the LORD leading me back to PNG (only the LORD knows the time) for this to continue…. And at such time, I put things in order for the mission work in Malawi.
I bought some property (titled and owned), for the mission work, the property is about five acres and sits at the foot of Mulanje Mountain. With the National forests behind the property and down the valley are the villages, meaning it is isolated and private. I piped in mountain water to the property, built two water holding tanks with taps. A building was built on the property (many of you have seen the pics) in a slide presentation. I kept expenses down and have about Seven thousand USD invested.
This building was built for the bible school in Malawi / Mozambique. There were / are bathing stalls, and toilets built for the students and a outside kitchen area (rough materials) for Americans, good for Africans).
It was a turn-key job and read to go when I was ready to leave Malawi for PNG. I had a Bible conference hosted on the property with those pastors who were still with the work and including Eric and Edwin.
With the closing of this conference, I asked publicly if Eric and Edwin were willing to continue teaching in the Bible School with me providing the material to teach, the answer was (yes) I asked the pastors new and older, if they would be willing, all concurred.
This being said, it has been since 2015 that I was back in Malawi, it has been since 2016 since Edwin Chipala was here, there hasn’t been one year since my absence that the Bible school has been operated, (run).
I don’t have all the answers (via electronic communications). I have asked Bro. Edwin Chipala to keep communications open between him and I regarding the work, needs, and his reports, further to this, no one knows the Malawi – Mozambique mission work like I do.
I am planning a mission’s trip to Malawi – Mozambique in January 2022 for some weeks and during this time I will access the mission work and provide a detailed report for you.
Having said all this, Eric had to seek employment to finance his children’s school fee’s, was forced to find work in South Africa. I have spoken to him during the past two years and his desire has been to return to Malawi and become active in the work, however he did not have the financial ability to return to Malawi. I informed him (Eric) that when I returned to the USA, I would see to it that he returned to Malawi.
This has recently been worked out and Eric is now on his way back to Malawi, further to this is the fact that Eric will need some financial support to support his children in school in order that he may apply himself to the mission work. I am an advocate for the Bible School to operate as this is the backbone of the mission work.
There is an average of six to seven hundred dollars per month that is being generated in support for the Malawi mission work, I have suggested to my pastor that we come up with eight hundred dollars per month for the mission work and in that we take four hundred for Edwin, and four hundred for Eric. They in turn become accountable to GOD first, to me as the missionary who recommended them to the brethren and finally to the supporters.
I believe in this way, the work will progress (humanly speaking) it is the LORD who builds the house, but we must be responsible and good stewards.
