Dear Pastor, Church, and All Supporters:

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Pr 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Pr 3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

The writing of this mission report is at the ending of a fifty-day (50) journey (road trip) from North Carolina, to California, back to Georgia, finally to Alabama.

There is much to report on, and say, I will not write all in this setting, rather I will break it up into series in order to ‘assist’ some readers that do not have freedom with lengthy reading.

Firstly, may I bring your attention to the above verses, some years ago, a church member where I was a member, asked me what I believed about ‘Tithing’ I replied, I do, and practice this, I teach it and embrace it.  I believe further that ‘tithing and honouring God with our substance’ is not restricted to Christians, I believe this is a command for all of mankind, though (most, never do) and some Christians cheat the LORD, rob HIM of what HE has commanded for our own good!

I draw reference to this, simply because, of me own life and what I do, experience, see and receive.  My life belongs to Him, I am HIS servant, and am ready to be at service for HIM, no matter where that takes me.  In so doing, the expenses, investments, time, energy, manhours, planning, preparation, setting things in motion, and then mechanically putting things into place.

One cannot possibly think that they can rob their neighbour and be at peace with them!! Can you?  How can two walk together except they be agreed?  In Malawi when they catch a robber, the mob will use petrol and tyres and burn the robber alive! All who observe it sends a message of (DON’T)!

I have all my life and many of you have also, honoured The LORD with our substance and have seen the blessings, poured out upon us, in our lives, homes, families, churches and even extended to our friends where our lives touch others.

I said all that to say this…The trip made was very expensive and laborious, however, not without manifold blessings in the end.  Many are looking for the blessings upfront, but that is not the way GOD works, and GOD’S people are slow in learning this principle.

Use what you have, a lot, a little believing and trusting in our LORD to take that and use it for HIS honour and for the good of HIS people.

When preparing for this trip, which had been planned weeks in advance, me mum and son Jared (who lives in Cleveland) were planning on being with me), and whilst I am talking about this, let me say that outside of ones’ work duties, and immediate family (that would mean) husband, wife, children... outside of that its extended family, we all have responsibilities that consume our time, energy, and resources.

Whilst being back here in the US I am constantly reminded of how much (parents) are pulled, relied upon, and disturbed with and by their children, grandchildren, and even self-induced.  What has happened to our generation of people?  Why is it, that parents are still nursing twenty-year-olds? Why are there still thirty-year-old lads who are still being (wet-nursed) as though it were?

Every little issue that comes along, the younger generation just can’t seem to get it together, where did it go wrong? And who fell asleep at the Post?  So, on and son on it goes.

With three people, baggage, and a long trip ahead of us, I could not use the small vehicle that had graciously been loaned to me of the travelling (mission work) to churches whilst in the US.  Many of you know me mum, she is now 87 and has a desire to travel with me where and when she can to support, and encourage others, how many grandmothers who are 87 do you know that are willing and able to make such road trips?

We loaded up mum’s vehicle and drove it to Henderson, TX to my pastor’s residence on the 1st of October 2021 it is just over five hundred miles, and I am learning now, that many folks, even younger people (?) find this a task to drive in one day, Really?

With mum, it was a hard day, my pastor and I discussed this and came to the agreement that it would be far better to find a van to rent and travel in for the ease, and comfort.  We found a full-size van (7seater) they call it, Chrysler it was new with 50,000 miles on the clock.  For one month rental was 4300.00 dollars, I believed the LORD would honour this effort and therefore I committed.

To ben continued… End of Part One in Series, stay tuned for the next report.

In His Name,

Missionary Peter A. Halliman
