Dear Pastor, Church and All Supporters;

Romans 12:13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Titus 1:8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

Report No. 3 – in series

This mission report is a continuation from series No. 2

There is a common thread that is woven into the fabric of GOD’S people, and especially those who are the ‘spiritual leaders’ those who stand at the post, and hold the helm of the ship.  Often times the language (my church, my people) which, flows into conversations from Pastor’ etc. in our day and generation often lead to a (ownership) mentality, however all spiritual leaders, thus pastor’ and missionaries, we are no more than (under shepherds) the church belongs to the LORD who bought it (Acts. 20:28) He is the ONE who died, bought, and redeemed us. The church!  He has placed under-shepherds to stand in the gap (yes) and to teach, feed the sheep, and instruct in the way.  This being said, one of the central themes in our character (spiritual leaders) should be that of hospitality!

At this point, I speak of Elder Rick Perdue, just know that I have not consulted with him no asked him (if) its ok for me to say this or that, no, no, no, rather I take the liberty to share with you (my own observations).

For twenty years, Bro. Perdue was my pastor, longer than any other in my ministry, a great work was wrought in Malawi / Mozambique though the sending church Landmark Missionary Baptist church of Roseville, CA and Pastor Rick Perdue was at the helm.  Many other’ participated in this great work and so it was and is.

From the 4th of Oct to the 13th Bro. & Sister Perdue hosted Jared, mum, and I in their home, of which during this time we were greatly cared for, the meals were prepared, served and the godly fellowship shared around the table and illustrated the behaviour becoming that of a Bishop, do not underestimate the importance of the woman in the backdrop, often times behind the scenes.

I am mature enough to know that many things synchronise in a home due to the fact there is a good woman connecting the dots.  I know what it is to cook and do domestic chores, therefore I greatly appreciate the wives of these great men of whom I am connected with in the ministry.

We had the privilege to spend some days in going to visit some of GOD’S great creation, the Big Trees (Redwoods and others)… if these trees could speak our language, what would they tell us?

Isaiah 55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Ezekiel 17:24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.

The guardians of the forests, these giants stand year after year, witnessing GOD’S great working amongst the inhabitants of the earth.

We took a day to drive out and see some of ‘man’s workings (the Golden Gate Bridge) the age of the engineers, and age of workers!  The one mile wide strait connecting San Francisco and the Pacific Ocean.  This links US Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait, it carries pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle traffic across the strait, has been declared one of the (wonders) of the Modern world.  This bridge was designed in 1917.

Again, pictures, videos etc… may be taken and are, numerous paintings, etc. are produced and duplicated however the beauty is GOD’S creation, HIS finger that put the strait, GOD allowing man, and giving to him the (brains) and human ability to make such things.

Job 38:3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

Job 38:10 And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
Job 38:11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud

waves be stayed?

Job 38:22 Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
Job 38:23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
Job 38:24 By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?
Job 38:25 ¶ Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
Job 38:26 To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
Job 38:27 To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?
Job 38:28 Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

Job 38:33 Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
Job 38:34 Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?

In His Name,

Missionary Peter Halliman
