Dear All Supporters, & Friends of the Gospel;
Ec 1:9 ¶ The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ec 1:10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
The purpose of this mission letter is to inform you (the supporter) friend, family (whomever you may be) of my purposed plans and some of the details, as I know them to be.
Firstly, I would like to say that we have been encouraged greatly by this visit to the US, however the LORD has used my wife and I, well, only the LORD knows. I believe it has been fruitful and blessed by our LORD in different ways, and I believe there is evidence to support that claim.
Secondly, I must now turn to some other responsibilities, which the LORD has placed in my life and bee accountable for them, and towards them.
Thirdly, I will ask each of you as the LORD enables you, and brings to your remembrance to pray for my wife and I as we engage in pursuing the LORD’S will as we believe it to be. I ask that you continue to pray for my wife’s health, as we have been here in the US for nine months and been to four different doctors, one a (Tropical/infectious) specialist, a Stomach specialist, a General Practitioner, and a Female doctor, and yet no one has been able to (really) find the issue. They all want to treat the symptoms, (which is what most doctors do). Most doctors are like mechanics, “just in it for the business end”. Keep the people sick, and the drug companies have a market, inflate the doctor’s fees and the health Ins companies have a crowd. All three are keeping the American people handcuffed.
Be that as it may, my wife still has the same health issues she had when we first arrived. I know there are many different folks who will read this, and just as many of those numbers are also that many (opinions). There is a terrible lot of backyard talk that goes on with GOD’S people, and the cannibals in Papua New Guinea are not the only folks who devour people, if fact after the LORD saves them they stop that habit, however it is not so amongst many so called “civilized” Christians. Many of you may disagree with my decision, and some may criticize me, others may question my domestic relationship, however, my wife is willing to depart with me and find recourse in South Africa. One of our issues here in the US is we do not have health Ins.
With no health Ins, we have incurred more than six thousand dollars in bills some of which we have paid off and some two thousand remain. I am not complaining, nor asking for any special assistance. It is what it is and we do what we can do.
However, with health Ins in Malawi, it is possible that we can get coverage even in South Africa through our health Ins. Enough said about this, every man must answer to the LORD for his (own) household; and every woman must (also) answer to the LORD how she follows or (NOT) her husband in the LORD.
Fourthly – I would like to outline an attentive itinerary that we will be working towards:
On the 29th of April we will make our departure to Malawi Africa, once there, as I have shared with many, we will begin to set the legalities in motion for the mission work there in Malawi/Mozambique Africa. Every pastor/ missionary knows when it is that they have brought a people to the border of Canaan. We know GOD calls different men in different ways, and it is only the H.S. who can lead, influence and convict each of GOD’S men relative to their ministry.
Secondly, we need to pack up mission property, as well as personal and prepare for shipment to PNG. This takes hands on and time to conduct properly, its not as simple as packing a few boxes and moving to the next State.
There are some men in the work who are ready for ordination, and I plan to set this in order before we move on.
I plan on a timetable between six months to a calendar year to complete this order of business, of which I will upon completion, return to the US for the following reasons:
a).I have personal items, which my wife and I have that will need to be shipped to PNG.
b). I feel it best to secure a 20’ shipping container at that time and secure our contents inside and ship over.
c). When I return to the US, I will only (LORD willing) only be here for a short season of time, to pack up our personal things ship to PNG and set some other things in order.
5. The other reason for returning in this short timetable is for the completion of my helicopter pilot training.
a). I have written much relative to this subject since it first started materializing back in September, regarding the vision for a helicopter in the mission work.
b). I will now deliberate on some facts that we all can try and understand.
(i). To attend a Civilian Helicopter school, from start to finish, a quote has been submitted to me from a school in Australia for (30,000.00) USD
(ii). I have shared with you how the LORD has opened some very [tight] doors with the US Army for my training. Allow me now to explain.
(iii). The Twelve hours of flight training I have already received, cost me (NOTHING), outside of the fact I just had to drive to the Army base and take the training. Two US Army Pilots (one) a certified flight instructor with both the US Army, and US civilian sector have opened their doors, talked to their commanding officers and received the ‘ok’ to allow a “who is Peter Halliman” to walk onto a US Military Base, get security clearance to sit in a multi-million dollar Apache Attack Helicopter and receive the best training in the world.
(iv). When I first made contact with the (Steve Blovat) the first pilot (C-6 Officer) with the 101st Airborne Division, the schedule was set up by him and I accommodated to that schedule.
(iv). The second instructor (Mil/Civ) C-3) with the Alpha Company/ 1-14 Unit/ 1st platoon, was introduced to me through (Steve ) who is a believer in Christ, and so is Ted. Time again was set up by both of them, and I went for training.
I do not have the authorization, nor the liberty to walk into a US Army base, and tell the Brigadier Commander that I am here for Pilot training, NO civilian (except families) of enlisted men and friends are allowed on base through security and that by invitation.
Therefore, I must collaborate with the timetable, which is given me by those in the Military whereby I can receive my training (for free). That all being said, I do not foresee any free time after, henceforth to the 29th April. I will again take this up when I return to the US to complete my training. Some may ask or want to know for how long does this go on, or take. Here is what I am being told by the Instructors. With 20 – 30 hrs. of training, one can test for their private helicopter license. I can do that in this country cheaper than in other countries.
Here is the final word; I do not presume to know GOD’S mind, nor HIS will, I too must search it out. I can only tell you what is going on in the very present of which I live. IF, it is in GOD’S will, then all that, which had before been preordained to come to pass, even so it shall be. I am confident of one thing, with a Sovereign GOD, it is not what I can or cannot do of which all this hinges on, rather it all hinges on the Sovereignty of The Mighty GOD, who calls to be those things which are, that had before been ordained to come to pass.
I want to thank each of you for your prayers, support, and love you have given, shown, and sacrificially made to us and for us. Our prayer is that GOD will bless the work of your hands as you labour for HIM in the field of service you are in, and smile upon your life.
In His Name,
Missionary Peter A. Halliman
